SEP to Host Basic & Certified Training in Boulder, CO



SEP Software Corp. invites you to join our live technical training event the week of August 18-22. The training will take place from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm MDT each day at the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business.

There will be two courses available:

  • SBA – SEP Basic Administrator Training – $1,495
  • SCA – SEP Certified Administrator Training – $2,495 (includes SBA)

These training sessions take you beyond theory and concepts to the actual mechanics and step-by-step hands-on experience taught by SEP’s lead technical directors.

Course Outline and Goals
This course is intended for system administrators and individuals using SEP sesam in their daily routine. The goal is to further familiarize yourself with the software, making implementation and use simple and efficient.
SBA Subject Matter
  • Installation requirements
  • Basics: interfaces and port utilization
  • Using SEP sesam in a network environment
  • SEP sesam processes and directory structure
  • SEP sesam components
  • Basic setup (backup tasks, schedules, media pools)
  • Backup, restore and migration
  • Backup strategies and concepts
  • Media management
  • Storage pools, performance monitor, media filters
SCA Subject Matter
  • Overview of new features in the newest version of SEP sesam
  • Administration of SEP sesam components with and without GUI
  • SEP sesam sm_client name resolution
  • Interfaces and configuration possibilities using PRE to Notify commands
  • Implementation of the SEP sesam log file and directory structure
  • Interpretation, evaluation and analysis of log files
  • Internal and external database backup communication
  • Introduction into SEP sesam Bare Metal Recovery
  • Update procedures and software licensing
  • Support structures and escalation requirements
